Terms of service

These terms apply to the websites and tools of Useful Shed, including Subtylo at subtitles.usefulshed.com (together, "the tools"). The tools are provided by EUDACE, družba za svetovanje in razvoj projektov, d.o.o., Dunajska cesta 159, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia, company reg. no. 3503631000, VAT ID SI11420421 ("we", "us"). By using a tool you agree to these terms.

1. What the tools do

Each tool performs one task in your browser. Subtylo creates captions for a video: it sends the video's audio track to our server for speech recognition, shows you the captions, lets you edit and style them, and builds the captioned video on your device. Speech recognition is done by an AI model and can contain mistakes; check the captions before you publish them.

2. Your content

• You keep all rights to the videos and audio you use. We do not claim ownership and do not publish anything.
• You may only use content you have the right to use. You may not use the tools for content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or sexualizes minors.
• You are responsible for what you publish with captions made by the tools.

3. Free use, plans and packs

• Free: you can create captions and export videos in 720p with a small Subtylo watermark at no cost, up to 20 videos a day.
• Pack: a one-time payment for a fixed number of exports without a watermark, plus subtitle files (SRT). A pack does not expire while the tool is offered; if we ever stop offering it, we refund unused exports bought in the previous 12 months.
• Pro subscription: exports without a watermark and subtitle files for as long as the subscription is active, for personal or business use within fair use (no automated bulk processing). It renews every month at the price shown at checkout until you cancel.
• Prices are shown on the tool's page and at checkout, including any tax. We may change prices for future purchases; a change to a running subscription is announced by email at least 30 days in advance, and you can cancel before it applies.

After paying you receive an access code. It is saved in your browser; keep a copy to use it on another device. Anyone with the code can use your plan, so do not share it.

4. Payments

Link, operated by Stripe, is the seller and merchant of record of your purchase. It processes the payment, collects the applicable tax and sends your receipt. Link's own payment terms, shown at checkout, apply to the payment itself. You can manage or cancel a subscription at app.link.com or by emailing us.

5. Refunds and your right of withdrawal

You can get a full refund within 14 days of a payment, without giving a reason; see the refund policy. This is at least as generous as the 14-day right of withdrawal that consumers in the EU have for online purchases, and it applies to everyone.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep the tools available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change or improve a tool. If we stop a paid tool, we tell active subscribers by email and stop billing them.

7. Fair use and limits

To keep the tools fast and affordable, we limit video length and the number of transcriptions per day. Current limits are shown in the tool. We may block use that harms the service or other users, such as automated mass uploads.

8. Liability

The tools are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence, or your mandatory rights as a consumer, including your legal rights if a paid tool does not work as described.

9. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Slovenia. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. Please contact us first at support@usefulshed.com.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Material changes that affect active subscribers are announced by email in advance.
